Miley Cyrus posed at the Walt Disney World resort in Florida, this time dressed. She apparently reverted back to the squeaky-clean mode after Disney, her dad and she realized that the topless underage photo shoot for Vanity Fair is bound to hurt the business, and that can’t be allowed to happen. After all, it’s tens of millions at stake, maybe more. Cyrus posed outside the Magic Kingdom with Mickey and Minnie Mouse and signed autographs.
Rumors suggesting Disney might want to cease the collaboration with 15-year-old Cyrus following the Vanity Fair scandal, were shattered, as the young star is supposed to perform in a special concert at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando on Saturday, E! reports.
Also, Disney spokeswoman Brenda Kelly Grant told E! that nothing had changed on their production.
Not only she posed in a sexy posture in the Annie Leibovitz photoshoot, showing the young star barely covered by a sheet, back bared and displaying a seductive look, the photos with her on her father’s knee were also disturbing to most people. “This picture disturbs me. It looks like his daughter is his girlfriend. He’s trying to be hot,” radio host Howard Stern said on his show.
It is also obvious, as a WSJ article titled “The Miley Cyrus Uproar” remarks, that only a fool would believe the apologies of the adults involved in the photo shoot, including Annie Leibovitz. It’s clear as daylight that she intentionally made Miley take a sexy pose, and everybody there understood that the 15-year-old was being turned into a sex symbol: “It is a blatant bedroom shot,” says The Times’ Janice Turner.

Fifteen years old and suggestively wrapped in what appears to be a satin bedsheet in the June issue of Vanity Fair. Did Miley Cyrus, with the help of a controversy-courting magazine, just deliver a blow to the Walt Disney Company’s billion-dollar “Hannah Montana” franchise?
Some parents reacted with outrage over the weekend when the television program “Entertainment Tonight” began showing commercials promoting a scoop: Ms. Cyrus, the star of the wholesome Disney Channel blockbuster “Hannah Montana,” had posed topless, albeit with her chest covered, for the Vanity Fair photographer, Annie Leibovitz.
Screen grabs of the photo quickly popped up online, sparking a blogosphere debate. “Bonfire anyone?” wrote Lin Burress on her marriage and parenting blog, Telling It Like It Is, referring to the mountain of Hannah Montana retail items — makeup, shoes, clothes — in the marketplace. “Parents should be extremely concerned,” Ms. Burress said in an interview. “Very young girls look up to Miley Cyrus as a role model.”
It is doubtful that one photograph — especially one that is tame in the context of an Internet awash in nude photographs of other starlets — could dent the Hannah Montana machine, said several Wall Street analysts. Retail sales for the franchise are expected to total about $1 billion in 2008. A motion picture is in the works for 2009 and Ms. Cyrus signed a seven-figure book deal with the Disney Book Group last week.
But keeping a teenage entertainment franchise on track in an age when stars are monitored around the clock by bloggers and paparazzi is extremely difficult, even for a company with the experience of Disney. Executives are constantly battling to keep minor slipups from growing into full-blown controversies.
Last week, the public relations problem du jour was a green bra; photos online showing Ms. Cyrus pulling away her tank top to flash her underwear.
Ms. Cyrus and the “Hannah Montana” series have been championed as one of the few entertainment sanctuaries for children, complicating matters. Last month, Ms. Cyrus was chosen favorite television actress at Nickelodeon’s “Kids’ Choice Awards.”

(Billboard) – Miley Cyrus is the only recent teen superstar who has had to manage career-endangering controversy in the midst of major success on several fronts.

The wholesome 15-year-old singer apologized on Sunday for posing for sexually provocative pictures for Vanity Fair, and has taken a drubbing in the media. Everything had been going so well: She has three albums on the Billboard 200, a box office hit with a recent concert film, a sold-out 2007 tour, as well as a hugely popular television show.
The first measure of Cyrus’ album sales since the story broke won’t be available until May 7, but Nielsen BuzzMetrics, which measures blog traffic, shows a 150% spike in discussion about Cyrus’ album “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert” between April 27 and April 29.
That album was perched at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 last week. She also has two other albums on the chart: “Hannah Montana 2” (No. 34) and “Hannah Montana 2: Non-Stop Dance Party” (No. 141).
To date, the singer and star of the Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana” has sold nearly 7 million records in the United States between her two personas, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
